Who We are
JIM KNUTSON
Farming is a lifelong passion for Jim Knutson. Jim grew up farming with his father, Dean, and currently manages and operates the farm with his four sons. His deep and quiet faith in God encourages him to stay the path in agriculture, as evidenced by the humble beginnings of his career during the farming crisis of the 1980s. Jim has been married to his wife, Julie, for forty years, and together they have five children and six grandchildren.
JOHN Knutson
Farming has always been a part of John’s life. From a young age he helped Jim and Grandpa Dean with farm chores. He spent 11 years in 4-H mostly showing cattle and sheep. At 10 years old he knew he wanted to farm for himself, a dream he made a reality in 2011. John is passionate about trading and enjoys following the grain markets. He enjoys learning about and implementing new farming technology. He studied business at the University of Northwestern – St. Paul.
Jared Knutson
Growing up in an agricultural lifestyle alongside his father and brothers, Jared knew at a young age that farming would become a lifelong dream and career. After graduating from Alexandria Technical College, he started farming in 2011. During the busy farming seasons, Jared oversees equipment operation and general maintenance. He has a passion for both growing crops and strong relationships with current and future landowners.
JAke KNUTSON
Jake has always loved the planting and growing season of farming. The hustle of planting and the analytics of different hybrids, traits, and practices implemented from growing year to growing year has led to his current role in Knutson Grain: sales and agronomy. Jake has a degree in Agriculture Business and Agronomy from North Iowa Area Community College. After working in the cattle industry and for a local chemical and fertilizer dealer, Jake came back to farm in 2016. His main passion is raising high-yielding corn and soybeans for Knutson Grain, as well as helping our seed customers maximize yields in their fields. He is married to Val, and they have three children: Amaya, Kai, and Nina.
JeD KNUTSON
Farming has always been one of the best parts of Jed’s life. He enjoys the variety of jobs that farming provides from day to day, and the family atmosphere that owning and operating his own farm provides. Jed has an electrical degree from Riverland Community College and came back to farm in 2016. Always willing to help out, Jed does many tasks around Knutson Grain- anything from driving grain cart in the fall to delivering seed in the spring. He is married to Kylie and they have two daughters, Kinley and Jentry. When not farming, Jed is an active member of his local fire department.
